Rohde & Schwarz Outlines New Portable Monitoring Receiver for Complex Signal Environments
A German communications leader, Rohde & Schwarz based in Munich (Bavaria), is set to get the fruits from its intense developmental efforts, which resulted in the latest portable monitoring receiver, named R&S PR200. With this highly flexible and reliable solution, the manufacturer is addressing a constant requirement to monitor, track, record and analyse complex signal environments. Company sources in Villepinte confirmed that recording capabilities for documentation purposes and subsequent analysis gain momentum in the present security environment. When it comes to the detection, identification and location of a broad spectrum of signals, capabilities as offered by the new R&S PR200 portable monitoring receiver will significantly add to the range of measures available to regulatory authorities, mobile network operators, police forces, military units and other public security organisations. The solution on offer for these users is described by Rohde & Schwarz as representing a “lightweight, extremely high-performance, portable monitoring receiver,” which thanks to its “excellent RF characteristics, fast signal processing and well-experienced handling covers a very wide frequency range from 8kHz to 8GHz.” The company added that with the HF907DC SHF handheld antenna (with integrated downconverter), it is possible to extend the range to 18 Gigahertz.
