Government and Industry Collaborate to Prove M-Code Maturity

In a collaboration between industry and government in a series of live fires tests in Yuma, AZ/USA, Rockwell Collins has demonstrated the successful integration of its Military-Code (M-Code) Global Positioning System (GPS) receivers into traditional GPS systems.

A series of seven ballistic and guided flight tests showcased the units’ live fire tracking capabilities for precision guided munitions. The M-Code receivers acquired M-Code and Y-Code GPS signals to guide the munitions to a specific target. In addition, in each test the GPS receiver rapidly acquired satellite signals to meet additional goals. All testing was done in a benign environment with no anti-jam or anti-spoofing features enabled.

The company completed delivery earlier this year of an order for 770 M-Code GPS receivers to the USAF Space and Missile Systems Center.
