€43 Million Contract for Enhanced Pallet Loading System Kits
Rheinmetall MAN Military Vehicles (RMMV) is to support the British Army’s efforts to modernise its logistics vehicles fleet with a new loading systems, the company announced on 17 September. The order is due for completion by January 2021.
Valued at some €43 million, the new contract requires RMMV to supply 382 retrofit kits for the Enhanced Pallet Loading System (ELPS), to be integrated onto the army’s HX trucks, of which the service procured over 7,500 in 2005-2013. As the backbone of the logistics fleet, operational experience with the HX family has resulted in development of a joint solution between Rheinmetall and the Ministry of Defence (MoD) to address the increasing demand for transport solutions for containers. MAN Truck & Bus UK will manage the project and convert the vehicles in country: RMMV will provide the retrofit kits from their plant in Vienna.
The programme is a compelling example of the close partnerships RMMV and MAN maintain with their customers, encompassing post-design services throughout the product’s entire lifecycle. It also highlights the prolonged supportability of the HX family of vehicles.
