One-Year Contract with Optional Annual Extensions
Rheinmetall Canada has been awarded a contract to sustain the Persistent Surveillance System (PSS) in service with the Canadian armed forces, the company announced on 8 February.
Starting this year, the one-year contract incorporates options for annual extensions. As prime contractor for PSS, Rheinmetall will provide repair and overhaul services for the eight PSS units currently in service.
The PSS consists of aerostat- and tower-based sensors connected to a ground station, enabling real-time sensor exploitation in the land C4ISR domain. Following initial procurement of the PSS in 2009, Rheinmetall conducted a first in-service support contract from 2015-2021.
