Australian Dynamic Suspension System for Rheinmetall Vehicles

Supashock Receives Government Grant for Further Development

Supashock, a developer of specialised suspension systems based in Adelaide, has received a grant of over A$468,000 from the Australian government’s Entrepreneur’s Programme to help accelerate development of its dynamic suspension technology and commercialise it for armoured and logistics vehicles.

The company’s innovative suspension solution delivers unprecedented levels of performance, safety and reliability, according to company officials. Last year it attracted the interest of Rheinmetall, which invited Supashock to exhibit on the Rheinmetall booth at Land Forces 2016 in September. The Australian Centre for Defence Industry Capability used its Global Supply Chain Initiative to facilitate the connection with Rheinmetall.

Supashock has already invested significantly in adapting its active shock absorbing technology to the RMMV HX 40M military truck, a test vehicle having been supplied by Rheinmetall MAN Military Vehicles Australia & New Zealand. “Rheinmetall is excited to be part of this drive for innovation and is keen to support projects involving Supashock that will assist this innovative Australian company towards finding new markets and creating Australian jobs,” Managing Director of Rheinmetall Defence Australia & New Zealand, Andrew Fletcher, said at the time of the joint exhibition.

The government grant will support a dedicated design, manufacture, install and test project to take the suspension from prototype to production for installation in Rheinmetall vehicles.
