Rheinmetall Order for HX81 Tractor-Trailers

International Customer to Receive 110 Vehicles at €134 million

Rheinmetall has received an order from an unspecified international customer to supply 110 HX81 tractor-trailers plus comprehensive service and logistical support for five years. Delivery of the current order, valued at €134 million, is scheduled for January 2018-February 2019 and additional orders are envisaged, according to the company.

The operationally proven HX81 family from Rheinmetall MAN Military Vehicles (RMMV) combines dependable components from large production runs, customised to meet the most exacting military requirements. Some 12,000 units are currently in service worldwide, with Australia, Norway and Sweden having recently placed large volume orders.

Designed for maximum robustness, the vehicles typically have a service life of at least 20 years and 300,000km. Capable of operations in extremes of heat and cold, they can be provided with active and passive protection solutions with minimal re-engineering required.
