Rheinmetall and Escribano Demonstrate MISSION MASTER A-UGV

Rheinmetall and Escribano Demonstrate MISSION MASTER A-UGV

Rheinmetall and Escribano Mechanical & Engineering have been collaborating of late in order to demonstrate two new modules for the MISSION MASTER autonomous unmanned ground vehicle (A-UGV). A series of demonstrations have been held in Spain before audiences that have included the Spanish Army Chief of Staff and His Majesty King Felipe VI.

A MISSION MAASTER SP-Fire Support was demonstrated fitted with an Escribano GUARDIAN RWS, while a MISSION MASTER SP-Surveillance showcased the Spanish company’s OTEOS mast-mounted sensor package, which successfully detected a threat and automatically shared the location with its fire support cohort.

The fire support vehicle featured the Dillon Aero M134D configuration of the GUARDIAN 2.0 and demonstrated safe wireless firing. As is always the case for MISSION MASTER operations, a ‘human-in-the-loop’ is required for all ‘kinetic decisions.’

For Rheinmetall Canada, this series of demonstrations in Spain marks the first integration of an Escribano payload on the MISSION MASTER SP A-UGV and its first collaboration with a Spanish company.

The successful demonstrations underscore Rheinmetall’s mastery of systems integration and the growing capabilities of its MISSION MASTER family. (Photos: Rheinmetall) Details
