300,000 Rounds, Initial Deliveries This Summer

Under a contract from the German MoD, Rheinmetall is to deliver 300,000 rounds of 35mm ammunition to Ukraine for use in the Gepard twin 35mm air defence system now deployed with the Ukrainian artillery.

Rheinmetall will be supplying 150,000 rounds each of APDS-T and HEI-T munitions, enabling effective engagement of a range of targets. Initial APDS-T rounds will be delivered this summer, and a shift in production to HEI-T is scheduled for the middle of next year.

Rheinmetall’s Unterlüß plant is currently creating additional medium-calibre ammunition production capacity, due to go into operation later this year and reflecting the company’s response to sharply increased global demand.
