Five-Year, $495 Million Logistics Support Contract
Raytheon Intelligence & Space is to provide expanded logistics support to the USMC, covering all the Corps’ ground equipment, under a five-year contract valued at $495 million (€406 million), the company announced on 8 June.
To sustain the Corps’ combat and tactical ground equipment, the company will deliver over 10,000 repaired parts per year, for systems ranging from armoured vehicles through ground radars to communications systems. Raytheon has supported the USMC in this fashion for the last 17 years – this contract represents an expansion of that relationship, almost doubling the anticipated volume of work being managed and extending support to every US Marine Corps installation in the world.
“We provide logistics support for deployed systems around the globe,” commented Bob Williams, VP of Global Training & Logistics for Raytheon Intelligence & Space. “Our job is to ensure no mission is ever delayed because of a needed repair or missing part.”
