USSOCOM Awards $15 Million Modification

US Special Operations Command (USSOCOM) has awarded Raytheon a $15 million contract modification for Operational Flight Program (OFP) development, field service representative support and engineering support services for the SILENT KNIGHT radar system, the Department of Defense (DoD) announced on 12 February.

Raytheon won the original contract for the SILENT KNIGHT system in 2007. Projected platforms include the MH-47G CHINOOK and MH-60M special operations BLACKHAWK helicopters, the CV-22 OSPREY tilt-rotor aircraft and MC-130 transports. The latest award completes OFP software delivery for the CV-22 and further work under this contract is due to be completed in Raytheon’s McKinney, TX facility by the end of 2021.
