Raytheon Closes Year with Three Missile Awards

MDA, USAF and USN Contracts Total $1.9 Billion

In what must have amounted to an extremely busy last week before the holidays, Raytheon Missile Systems announced three awards from the US Department of Defense, totalling $1.9 billion (€1.7 billion).

A contract awarded by the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center, covering Production Lot 33 for the Advanced Medium Range Air-to-Air Missile (AMRAAM) carries a value of $768 million and provides for production of the AMRAAM missiles, captive air training missiles, guidance sections, AMRAAM telemetry system, spares and other production engineering support hardware. This contract involves unclassified foreign military sales to Australia, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, Indonesia, Japan, Kuwait, Morocco, Netherlands, Norway, Oman, Poland, Qatar, Romania, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Slovakia, South Korea, Spain, Thailand, Turkey and United Kingdom, which accounts for 47% of the contract value.

A $112 million modification to a previously awarded US Navy contract provides non-recurring engineering support throughout the engineering and manufacturing development phase as well as through payload integration and transition to production for the Miniature Air-Launched Decoy – Navy (MALD-N). Work is expected to be completed in September 2022.

The Missile Defense Agency awarded the company a $1.023 billion contract modification for the Standard Missile-3 (SM-3) Block IIA. Under this modification, Raytheon will provide the management, material and services associated with the procurement, manufacture and assembly for a total of 62 SM-3 Block IIA all-up rounds, inclusive of all options.
