£127 Million Five-Year Engineering Delivery Partner Contract
QinetiQ has secured a five-year £127 million (€140 million) contract through the Engineering Delivery Partner (EDP) framework, that will see the company delivering a wide range of services in support of the RAF’s TYPHOON aircraft, from planning and acceptance through to regulatory assurance and trials support, as well as initiatives to optimise the platform’s capabilities.
The company’s knowledge and expertise will play a central role in the TYPHOON radar development programme and data analytics for operational missions. QinetiQ will be capitalising on specialist skills within EDP’s Provider Network1 to add value and deliver additional service benefits.
This award builds on QinetiQ’s long-standing support for the TYPHOON and will form the second phase of the Phased Enhancement Programme2 for the aircraft, following on from work on Phase 13 last year.
The award takes the total value of orders awarded within the first two years of EDP to over £500 million. EDP enables MoD to deliver programmes more efficiently and effectively, and is now firmly established as the default route to market for engineering services, providing both capacity and capability across all service areas and increasing engagement with SMEs. Delivering significant savings, minimising delays and acting as a catalyst for innovation in engineering services, EDP has received over 1,000 tasking orders since its inception in October 2018.
“Through EDP we provide essential engineering expertise to UK MoD […] This significant contract takes total orders through EDP to over £500 [million] since inception two years ago – an excellent example of our strategy in action, delivering significant savings and innovation for the UK MoD,” commented Nic Anderson, QinetiQ Group Managing Director Air & Space.
