SIMA Perú and STX Will Deliver Class of Ten
State-owned SIMA Perú, working with Korean shipyard STX Offshore and Shipbuilding, has delivered the third and fourth PGCP-50 maritime patrol vessels to the Peruvian Navy. BAP RIO QUILCA and RIO PIURA were delivered after successfully completing sea and acceptance trials.
The two shipyards will ultimately deliver a class of ten PGCP-50s, each with a length of 55.3m and a beam of 8.5m, displacement of 465t and a máximum speed of 23 knots. Accommodation is provided for a crew of 39 and two RHIB craft on board. The vessels will also feature the TYPHOON and MINI-TYPHOON remote weapon stations from Rafael Advanced Defence Systems.
