IAI Elta Systems Subcontracts FAdeA
The Peruvian Navy has confirmed that the ‘Brigadier San Martin’ Argentine Aircraft Factory (FAdeA) in Córdoba, Argentina, is to be responsible for the structural modifications of the service’s two Fokker 50MPA maritime patrol aircraft, which are to receive SIGINT equipment.
The aircraft, acquired from the Netherlands in 2014 for €9.56 million, will start arriving in Argentina within 30-45 days and the modifications are expected to take 5-8 months to complete. Elta Systems – a subsidiary of Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI) – subcontracted FAdeA due to its recent relevant experience as well as its qualification to apply the relevant supplementary type certificate.
