Further Investment in German Manufacturing Facility

Peli Products is continuing its significant European expansion programme, increasing its investment in its German manufacturing facilities in Crottendorf, which it acquired last year the company announced on 17 May.

The investment will facilitate one of the objectives of the current strategic plan – to transfer some production to Germany from its US facilities. Some 15 protective cases are already manufactured in Crottendorf and, following the successful implementation of a new SAP IT systems, 11 more will be added by the end of this year and a further 15 in 2024. The local workforce will potentially double over the next two years, in consequence, and further investment will be focused on plant and machinery. This expansion is integral to the strategy that Platinum Equity, which acquired Pelican Products at the end of 2021, laid out in order to support and accelerate the company’s international growth plans.

The plan is designed to maximise sustainability, resulting in several projects such as recycling almost 100% of wasted polypropene in-house and other materials, including polyethylene, externally. The manufacturing site has been upgraded with photovoltaic panels and a system to re-use machine-generated heat to warm up the manufacturing halls in winter.
