Useful Life extended to 2040s

Patria has completed the mid-life upgrade (MLU) programme for the XA-180 Pasi APC fleet, a programme it has been working on since the original agreement with the Finnish Defence Forces in 2013. The last vehicles have now been delivered to the customer.

The MLU extends the APC’s useful life into the 2040s, by which time their function should have been taken over by the Patria 6×6 vehicle. During the programme, which has absorbed a total of 450 man-years, all the XA-series vehicles have been modernised and aligned with current requirements, including new electrical and communication systems, and an updated crew space with improved seating solution. Key components – including engines, power transmission and axles – were inspected and repaired or replaced, as required.
