iSky-20HD and -50HD to be installed on New Helicopters
Today at Paris Air Show 2017, CONTROP Precision Technologies announced the sale of several electro-optic/infra-red (EO/IR) payloads to the Israeli Police. The iSky-20HD (formerly SHAPO-HD) and iSky-50HD (formerly DSP-HD) systems are to be installed on new helicopters and integrated with Churchill Navigation Mission Systems.
According to Hagay Azani, CONTROP’s VP Marketing, the company, “has also sold several iSky-30HD and iSky-50HD systems to a variety of customers in North America, Asia-Pacific and Africa [in recent months]….. Incorporating the most advanced technologies in this field, the iSky is expected to draw a lot of attention and interest from military and para-military integrators as well as relevant end users.”
The iSky line of six medium and long-range payloads was specifically developed for the challenging and often turbulent aerial environment, providing solutions for most medium and long-range aerial surveillance platforms. Features include a continuous optical zoom lens in the day and thermal imaging cameras, gyro-stabilised gimbals and multi-sensor options including an eyesafe laser range finder and/or laser pointer, all of which provide outstanding capabilities. Ideal for manned or unmanned airborne platforms, all iSky systems include real-time image enhancement features, built in inertial navigation systems and automatic target tracking. They are successfully operated, fully integrated and deployed by Search and Rescue (SAR), Border Surveillance, Law Enforcement, Special Operations, Maritime Patrol and Force Protection units.
