PAS17: FLIR Systems and AIM Norway Open Regional Service Centre

Delivering support for all current & future regional programmes that utilise Star SAFIRE

At Paris Air Show 2017, FLIR Systems announced a partnership with AIM Norway (Aerospace Industrial Maintenance) to open a regional FLIR Service Centre. The companies will partner to provide technical maintenance and support for FLIR Systems’ electro-optical/infrared (EO/IR) systems in service in Norway, including the Star SAFIRE 380-HDc, which the Norwegian Ministry of Justice will begin using this summer as part of their Norway’s All-Weather Search and Rescue Helicopter (NAWSARH) programme.

The collaboration will provide FLIR maintenance and support capabilities for regional search and rescue (SAR), airborne law enforcement (ALE), and military customers where mission availability is paramount. Underpinned by a series of technical maintenance and assistance agreements, the organisations will open a centre in Kjeller, Norway and deliver support for all current and future regional programmes that utilise the FLIR Star SAFIRE family of products. FLIR Systems will provide additional expedited parts replacements, special tooling, and technical support documentation to ensure all Norwegian customers achieve product availability requirements.

FLIR and AIM Norway today support many critical operations and we are delighted to partner to deliver on our customer support commitments in Norway,” Kevin Tucker, Vice President and General Manager of FLIR Surveillance, explained. “Ensuring full operation of our products both on land and offshore in the region is mission-critical for FLIR and our customers. Together with AIM Norway, we look forward to helping keep our customers operational and to building a great foundation for future business.”

Our relationship with FLIR has grown over the years, and it is gratifying that FLIR views us as a strategic partner for support in Norway,” Ove Haukåssveen, CEO of AIM Norway, concluded. “Norway has one of the most challenging operating environments in the world. We are proud to be part of a team providing solutions that help make it a safer place.”
