Production in Austria, Delivery from 2018

At the end of last year the Austrian MoD contracted General Dynamics European Land Systems (GDELS) to supply an additional 34 PANDUR 6×6 vehicles. The modernised version of the proven vehicle will be entirely manufactured in Austria and delivered from 2018. The vehicle features a high degree of domestic content, with over 170 organisations in the supply chain.

The new vehicles will benefit from a new power pack, significantly improved ballaistic and mine protection and a fully integrated RWS. Due to contractual reasons, the company was not available to provide further deatils.

Austria first procured 71 PANDURs in 1994, since when they have been operated at home and on overseas peacekeeping missions.

“This contract shows a high domestic content and secures hundreds of jobs in Austria,” said Mag. Martin Reischer, Managing Director of GDELS-Steyr, the Austrian-based subsidiary of GDELS.
