Ovzon SATCOM-as-a-Service

Connecting the World’s Critical Missions Via Satellite

Established in 2006, Ovzon was conceived by industry experts to address a clear market demand: a satcom solution that blended the mobility and ease of use of MSS with the high data throughput of HTS/FSS. The goal was straightforward — to meet multiple customer needs by pioneering a satellite communication system marked by exceptional mobility, performance, and resiliency.

Ovzon’s vision uses these three key concepts:

  • Mobility, we aim to develop the smallest satellite terminals with the highest performance.
  • Performance, ensuring the highest transmit data rates enabled by the market-leading combination of power density (EIRP) and antenna performance (G/T).
  • Resiliency, guaranteeing signal transmission regardless of weather conditions, hostile near-peer environments, or compromised gateway stations.

To realize this vision, it required complete control over the entire communication process, from proprietary terminals, satellite capacity, teleports, as well as support and services, a complete end-to-end solution that we called: Ovzon SATCOM-as-a-Service.

Over the years, Ovzon has consistently invested in technology development and secured valuable intellectual property rights. With this foundation, Ovzon emerged as a leader in SATCOM-as-a-Service.

Ovzon’s SATCOM-as-a-Service offers world-class satellite-based mobile communication tailored for critical missions within defense, national security, and public safety.

 Ovzon SATCOM-as-a-Service offers many advantages:

  • Scalability and Flexibility: the service can easily be scaled up or down to meet the changing needs of a mission without the need for large upfront investments in hardware and software. This is particularly important for missions that may have fluctuating demands for bandwidth, or that may need to quickly deploy additional terminals in response to changing conditions.
  • Rapid Deployment: the service can be deployed quickly and easily, even in remote or hostile environments. Ovzon handles all of the necessary infrastructure and maintenance, so users can focus on their mission objectives.
  • Increased Resilience: The service can provide more resilient communications than traditional satellite solutions, as it can leverage multiple satellite networks to ensure that users have access to a connection even if one network is disrupted. This is particularly important for missions that are critical to national security or that operate in areas with limited or unreliable infrastructure.
  • Managed Service: Ovzon SATCOM-as-a-Service is a fully managed service, which means that we handle all of the troubleshooting, maintenance, and upgrades. Our customers can focus on their mission objectives without having to worry about all the technical aspects of satellite communications.
  • Global Coverage: Ovzon can provide global coverage, so users can stay connected anywhere in the world. This is important for missions that require coordination or communication between multiple locations.

With Ovzon 3, Ovzon will bring new features such as:

    • Enhanced Security: Ovzon provides a variety of security features; with its satellite, Ovzon 3, Ovzon will have even more security features:
      • Very Low Signal-to-Noise Ratio (VLSNR) functionality
      • TRANSEC comparable capability
      • NSA-approved Encrypted TT&C (Telemetry, Tracking, and Command)
    • Enhanced Resiliency: Ovzon 3’s On-Board-Processor represents disruptive technology that enables previously unavailable resiliency for assured connectivity when needed most. With features like:
      • Autonomous operation: Ability to continue Operation through a direct link between Ovzon 3 and our terminals even if the ground control station is compromised.
      • Future proof and customer-specific / network-adaptable: Ovzon’s OBP is reprogrammable in orbit to add new functionality and meet specific demands as they arise.

The growing adoption of SATCOM-as-a-Service by our most demanding customers is a testament to its ability to meet their requirements.

We believe that these requirements will continue to increase, and we stand confident that with Ovzon 3 and its new and to-come features, we will be able to answer the coming demands of organizations and governments and continue to help them to successfully achieve their critical missions.
