The connectors ensure a fast and trouble-free flow of information thanks to a combination of flexible connections, compact dimensions and high speeds
ODU modular connectors enable single-product solution for the different types of conditions and situations, often difficult, faced by military vehicles. ODU’s connectors are robust, resistant and optimised for demanding applications.
They ensure a fast and trouble-free flow of information thanks to a combination of flexible connections, compact dimensions and high speeds. The extreme resilience and transmission reliability of the connector solutions is guaranteed even under the most technically demanding environmental conditions.
Military vehicles face several challenges in the operational field, such as difficult environmental or weather conditions. And, regardless of complex environments and obstacles, military units need to be able to network with each other. As this requires transmission of high data rates, it is usually necessary to use optical fibres. Requirements for transmitting current, high voltage, data technology or fibre optics are generally very different and cannot be integrated into one connector.
But the ODU series connectors can be the perfect option, as they provide a single-product solution. ODU’s offer includes standard cable assemblies for various data technology protocols: USB, HDMI, Displayport or coax connector. The connected subsystem is ofthen crucial. For this reason, for example, does a reconnaissance device or other optotronics require high-frequency connectors that ensure connection to printed circuit boards. On the other hand, a HUB in the vehicle ensures data exchange via an Ethernet hub.
For all those applications requiring a single interface to connect simultaneously several power lines, data over copper, optical fibers, and circuits for liquid cooling of devices, ODU offers ODU-MAC (modular) series. This is used in one of the most common Main Battle Tank Systems (MBT). In this case, various modules, from power transmission to data technology, can be used, and all of them are integrated into one interface. In this particular case, the modular connector transmits both the supply voltages for a central electronic unit and the switching and control signals for the entire tower system.
