Six New Vehicles to be Delivered From 2022
On 21 March the Norwegian Defence Materiel Agency (NDMA) signed an agreement with Krauss-Maffei Wegmann for the procurement of new LEGUAN bridgelayers.
Based on the LEOPARD 2 chassis, the vehicles will supplement the LEGUANs built on LEOPARD 1 chassis that Norway has had in service for over 20 years. The army will receive six new vehicles, together with training simulators and a support package, with delivery to commence from mid-2022, according to the company. To date, 18 nations have ordered LEGUAN bridgelaying vehicles.
