Enables Tactical Picture Sharing Across Multiple Platforms

NEXEYA France (a HENSOLDT company) has completed integration of the NATO Link 22 tactical datalink into its LYNCEA embedded naval combat management system (CMS), the company announced on 3 November.

Designed for use on patrol boats and surveillance frigates, LYNCEA enables the sharing and monitoring of the tactical picture with other platforms, using on-board sensors such as: radar, optronic devices, sonar, EW, AIS, ADS-B, NATO or non-NATO data link. Designed with a modular architecture, LYNCEA offers the capacity to evolve and adapt to all ship types. It also ensures weapons management and facilitates decision-making, using powerful graphics tools combined with an intuitive, ergonomic and easy-to-use interface. LYNCEA is especially suitable for state action missions at sea, such as the surveillance of maritime zones, the fight against trafficking, public service missions, search and rescue and anti-surface warfare. It uses the latest signal processing technologies in order to increase the detection distance of small targets.

Thanks to secure beyond line-of-sight communication (BLOS), Link 22 can reach up to 300 nautical miles. The tactical datalink offers complete interoperability for allied forces and allows the exchange of tactical data with all surface, subsea, airborne, land and space platforms. Link 22 also gives access to the EW and C2 domains and free text. Among its greatest benefits are BLOS communications and availability of a retrofit solution for existing combat units, allowing for significant potential service life extension. Link 22 ELFIN replaces Link 11 ALLIGATOR.
