New Management Structure Focuses on Long-Term Vision
Magnus Holding, an investment company with a primary focus in aviation, defence, medical technology and pharmaceutical primary packaging, has acquired the majority of shares in Drehtainer GmbH, a leading manufacturer of mission-critical mobile protection systems for the civil, medical and military markets, the company announced on 28 February.
Wolf-Rüdiger von Toll, an executive with proven capabilities in strategic sales and business development in the defence industry, will take over management of the company with effect from 1 April. His focus will be on a reinvigoration of the company’s strategic orientation, thereby ensuring consistent and sustainable business development in the long term. He will be advised in this role by long-time Managing Directors Reinhard Glombek and Jens Harder, who will retire from their current positions on 31 May but will continue to offer advice as shareholders.
Based in Valluhn, near Hamburg, Drehtainer has a long tradition of developing and manufacturing special containers and vehicle components. The company supplies numerous NATO forces and original equipment manufacturers in the defence and aerospace industries with protective infrastructures and command posts, as well as mission-critical mobile protection and rescue services. The company’s portfolio also includes sophisticated developments for nuclear technologies and special containers and hoisting equipment for industrial applications.
Philipp Schack, Managing Partner of Magnus Holding, commenting on the acquisition of Drehtainer as an important strategic step, stated “As an entrepreneur with a long-term focus, I would particularly like to expand into other key markets together with the Drehtainer team. It is our goal to continue to be a reliable partner and provider of innovative technologies for military and civilian security applications for our customers worldwide.”
