New EW Capabilities for F-15E and F-15EX

Boeing Integrates EPAWSS on USAF Aircraft

Boeing has begun the necessary modifications to install the Eagle Passive Active Warning and Survivability System (EPAWSS) on the first two (of 43) USAF F-15Es. EPAWSS will also be the EW system for the F-15EX.

Developed, produced and integrated by a strong partnership between Boeing and BAE Systems, EPAWSS represents a transformational overhaul for F-15 survivability, providing advanced capabilities to detect and counter ground and airborne threats while also improving battlefield situational awareness.

The Eagle Passive Active Warning Survivability System makes the most of mission effectiveness and survivability for the F-15 in contested environments, and further strengthens a highly capable, lethal aircraft,” said Prat Kumar, VP of F-15 Programs. “With EPAWSS, the F-15E and F-15EX have successfully proven they can perform across a large force environment to penetrate advanced enemy air defenses and improve mission flexibility.”

In May last year, two F-15EX took part in Northern Edge exercises, demonstrating operational potential with EPAWSS and informing subsequent exercises last October and in February.
