Light tactical vehicles for Polish Army
At MSPO 2017, Concept presents three wheeled (4×4) light vehicles that are offered to the Polish Army.
The first one is the fourth version of the LPU-4 WIRUS light tactical vehicle. It is a proposal for a tender known as ŻMIJA. Under this codename Poland wants to procure up to 118 new long-range reconnaissance vehicles. LPU-4 was selected as the winner in July 2017.
The total weight of the LPU-4 is 2.6t , including 900kg of a cargo (including weapons). Its maximum range is 400km (terrain) or 600km (paved roads). A maximum speed is respectively 100km/h or 140km/h. LPU-4 can be easily transported by C-130E HERCULES aircraft. It can transport up to three soldiers.
Two other vehicles are members of the DINO family. Both are a proposal for a tender codenamed MUSTANG. Its aim is to procure a medium high-mobility transport truck. It is expected that a contract with a winner will be signed this year. In total Poland wants to procure 913 MUSTANGs, including 41 armored, between 2019-2022 and optionally 2,787 unarmored by 2026. Those vehicles will replace the currently used wheeled vehicles of HONKER and UAZ families.
One of the vehicles is the LTMPV (Light Tactical Multi-Purpose Vehicle) DINO 319, which was designed in cooperation with Mercedes Benz and Oberainger Automotive GmbH. While the latter provided a chassis of the SPRINTER truck, the former was responsible for a drive system. The car’s composite body was designed by the Concept company. DINO 319 is equipped with a turbo-diesel (190hp), manual gearbox. Its dimensions are: 5,600mm (length), 2,050mm (width), 2,460mm (height), 3,250mm (wheelbase). It has a gross weight of 3.5t and a payload of one tonne. It also has nine seats (2+7).
A third vehicle is the LTMPAV (Light Multi-Purpose Armoured Vehicle) DINO 519 with a turbo-diesel (190hp) and a manual gearbox. Its dimensions are: 6,000mm (length), 2,120mm (width), 2,750mm (height), 3,250mm (wheelbase). Its gross weight is 4.6t and a payload is 800 kilogrammes. It has five seats (2 + 3).
