Trace-and-Vapour Detectors Work on DC or Battery Power

MS Detection, the homeland security and defence division of MS Tech, has completed installation and training for a DUOSCAN detection suite for a major airline in Africa, the company announced on 17 November.

“The threat of explosives [to] the aviation industry is still imminent and even growing, given the global geo-political instabilities throughout this challenging COVID-19 year,” stated MS Tech CEO, Doron Shalom. “Moreover, with the increase in air cargo shipments since COVID-19 started; airlines, air cargo and airports are facing an unprecedented volume of parcels, boxes, envelopes as well as personnel and vehicles entering their cargo screening facilities.” Installation was accomplished with the assistance of a dedicated local technical team.

DUOSCAN is a trace-and-vapour detection system that detects and identifies minute quantities of narcotics and explosives, as well as improvised explosives, such as TATP and HMTD, within seconds. Extremely flexible, for use at airport passenger checkpoints and cargo-screening stations, operates equally well on DC power or rechargeable batteries, facilitating continuous use.
