More LRASM Production Contracts for Lockheed Martin

$414 Million Largest Order in Programme History

Lockheed Martin has received orders from the US Navy and Air Force totalling $414 million (€340 million) for the fourth and fifth production lots of the Long-Range Anti-Ship Missile (LRASM) – the largest production contract in the programme’s history.

LRASM, in service on USN F/A-18E/F and USAF B-1B aircraft,  detects and destroys specific targets within groups of ships, employing advanced technologies that reduce dependence on ISR platforms, network links and GPS navigation in EW environments. It will play a significant role in ensuring the ability to operate in open ocean, owing to its enhanced ability to discriminate and conduct tactical engagements from extended ranges.

Derived from the successful Joint Air-to-Surface Standoff Missile-Extended Range (JASSM-ER), LRASM is a precision-guided, anti-ship standoff missile, designed to meet US needs in contested environments. It provides an operational capability for the USN’s offensive anti-surface warfare Increment I requirement.

This contract reflects LRASM’s increasing significance to our customers’ missions. Focused teamwork around a shared vision with our customers and our dedicated supply partners remains key to this program’s success,” commented David Helsel, LRASM Director at Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control.
