Milrem LCM Changes Name to Milworks

Patria/Mootor Subsidiary Rebrands for Clarity

Milworks is the new name for Milrem LCM, the company announced on 9 April. The name change better supports the company’s identity and its actual activities. It also avoids confusion with Milrem Robotics, a spin-off from Milrem LCM in 2017. The companies each have different focus, owners and operations, which will now be better defined through the name change. Milrem Robotics keeps the trademark Milrem and will continue with its current name.

Milworks is an Estonia-based company focused on maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) of defence materiel and has become a trusted partner to the Estonian Defence Forces. In Latvia Milworks has a framework contract with the Latvian Defence Forces. All defence- and security-related customers – police, border guard, rescue service – are potential Milworks customers.

In recent years, Milworks’ focus has been primarily on military vehicle-related MRO services. The company has serviced military vehicles including the Patria XA-180 and XA-188 APC, BAE Systems Hägglunds CV-9035 IFV and various soft skin vehicles: different 4×4, 6×6 and 8×8 military trucks, bridge laying systems, fuel tankers, fire trucks, etc. Milworks also provides MRO services for systems and assemblies, such as engines, gearboxes and axles.

Milworks’ strategy is to maintain a market leading position in military vehicle MRO and to expand its market share into new areas, such as weapon systems. The company employs 36 persons in Tallinn, Tapa and Voru and is owned by Patria Group and Mootor Grupp.

I believe that Milworks will bring more the nature of our MRO focused company. The name comes from the words ‘military’ and ‘works’. The word ‘works’ indicates both the business activity that we’re in and also the quality of our service, that everything works after we have maintained or repaired it. And the colors blue, black and white represent the colours of the flag of Estonia,” explained Ingvar Pärnamäe, Managing Director.
