Family of UWB Radar Sensors Continues to Grow

Camero-Tech continues to consolidate its position in pioneering pulse-based ultra-wideband (UWB) micro-power radar systems for so-called ‘Through-Wall Imaging’ (TWI) applications.

According to company representatives during Milipol 2021 in Paris last month, the XAVER family of TWI systems keeps selling well and generating interest amongst special forces and law enforcement entities conducting urban and rural operations. Commercial success has driven the expansion of the family, which now includes the XAVER 100 hand-held, XAVER 400 compact tactical, and XAVER 800 high-performance systems, all complemented with the XAVERNET wireless ToughPad.

In February, the company unveiled its XLR-80 long-range system, which enables detection of live objects behind walls at distances of over 100 metres. Following user feedback, Camero is now launching its groundbreaking XLR40 system, a lightweight variant with a range exceeding 50 metres, a weight of just 11.5kg and a guaranteed endurance of 7hrs, thanks to two internal batteries. Its size and shape allow for easy transport and deployment, also including the possibility of installing it onboard vehicles. The new system is especially compact and can be carried by a single individual, offering an operational advantage to ground forces in a hostile environment. Like previous solutions, it is based on an innovative UWB sensor, and supported by patented algorithms and signal processing supervised through the XAVERNET tablet. An integrated data recording function with playback for post-mission debriefing, post analysis and training are also included.
