Delivers Cloud Computing Speed Without Compromising Security
Mercury Systems has announced award of a contract, valued at up to $25 million, to deliver ruggedised servers to an unidentified customer.
The deal, which is worth an initial $16.8million, involves servers featuring the company’s BuiltSECURE technology which, the company says, can “deliver cloud-computing speed to the field without compromising security [and] provide data center-level performance while maintaining system-wide integrity and protecting critical data from loss or compromise.”
Mercury suggests the servers will be used in an edge role, and that the ruggedisation is suitable for “deployment in harsh environments“. The company has not specified which of its numerous server products are included in the deal, but says that delivery is expected over “the next several quarters.”
“To stay ahead of and counteract adversarial threats, our customer needed the speed, security and capabilities of the latest processing platforms at the tactical edge to meet a variety of their program requirements,” said Joe Plunkett, VP of Mercury’s embedded team. “We were able to provide them a rugged secure server solution that minimized cost, reduced program risk and delivered proven performance and reliability, further validating the important role Mercury plays as a trusted partner to leading prime contractors.”
