Meggitt Awarded $26 million contract from GDLS

Meggitt PLC, a leading international company specialising in high performance components and sub-systems for the aerospace, defence and energy markets, announced that Meggitt Defense Systems, Inc., received a $26 million contract to provide Thermal Management Systems (TMS) to General Dynamics Land Systems (GDLS) for the M1A2 SEPv3 and M1A2 KSA main battle tanks. This contract supports the recent award from the US government to GDLS for the upgrade of 786, M1 ABRAMS for the US Army and FMS contracts.

Meggitt Defense Systems has produced over 2,400 TMS for the ABRAMS programme and this award represents the first of several planned awards in support of this important US Army/GDLS platform. TMS provides active cooling to ABRAMS upgraded electronics and crew. Meggitt also supplies the HVAC system for the GDLS-Canada, ABLAV programme.
