New HQ at Cranfield

Marshall Aerospace’s plan to relocate its UK headquarters to Cranfield has received outline planning permission, the company announced on 19 April.

The decision by Central Bedfordshire Council paves the way for the business to begin detailed design work for the first phase of its development at Cranfield. “Today’s decision is an exciting milestone in the relocation of our UK Aerospace headquarters,” stated Marshall Group CEO, Kathy Jenkins.

The Vice-Chancellor and Chief Executive of Cranfield University, Prof Karen Holford, welcomed the news. “The relocation of Marshall Aerospace to Cranfield University will bring to the region new opportunities for collaboration in research and innovation, as well as raising the aspiration for skills development. The new stateof-the-art facilities will complement our university capabilities, particularly our global research airport, and further our work with industry and government”.

Delivering innovation and excellence for both civil and military aircraft, Marshall Aerospace specialises in aircraft conversion, modification, maintenance and support, as well as providing personnel, training and technical advice. Once established in its new facility and running at capacity, the business is expected to employ up to 1,200 staff, many of whom will be in skilled, hands-on aircraft maintenance, with other roles covering a range of support and managerial disciplines.
