Six MD Helicopters Aircraft Accepted, Training Completed
The Malaysian MoD has confirmed six MD 530G light scout attack helicopters have passed an initial acceptance process, and MD Helicopters has completed training eight pilots and nine mechanics for the new fleet, the company announced on 13 January.
The aircraft are en route to Malaysia, where final acceptance will take place before the end of the first quarter of 2022. The initial acceptance was performed by the Malaysian MoD’s agent, Halaman Optima/Destini Prima. Training was provided to members of the Malaysian Army Aviation’s 881st Regiment in west Texas.
The variant of the 530 Malaysia is getting includes a Wescam L3 MX10D sensor, Tek Fusion‘s Pathfinder Ares weapon management system, a Dillion M134 minigun, and FN Herstal heavy machine gun and rocket machine gun pods.
