MTC Introduces Reliable and Lightweight Autonomous Electro-Mechanical Landing System for MALE UAVs
MTC Industries and Research Carmiel Ltd., a developer and manufacturer of a wide range of systems for the aerospace and defence markets, will unveil a reliable and lightweight autonomous electro-mechanical landing system for MALE UAVs at Eurosatory 2018 next week. The system simplifies landings and enables minimal maintenance and repair costs and can be seen at Eurosatory 2018, in the Israel Pavilion, in hall 6, on stand #E-750.
“We are proud to display, for the first time, a unique landing system based on the company’s decades of expertise in the development of advanced electro-mechanical products for the defence and aerospace industries,” Yair Avni, Vice President Operations of MTC, said. “The system is an easy-to-use, economical alternative to hydraulic landing systems. A variety of dual modules in the system guarantee the highest level of reliability.”
The system consists of three redundant critical mechanisms that contribute significantly to the system’s reliability: dual coil electrical motors, dual coil electro-mechanical tooth-brakes, and dual control units – as an integral part of the system. Stroke lengths and power ranges are customisable according to requirements. MTC control system, enabling optimal performance, is also available with the landing system. The system complies with various DoD, military, and NATO MIL-STD and has NGS certification for integration of complex aircraft systems.
“The system can be installed on various UAVs, including current models. Adjustable and customizable according to requirements, it can withstand harsh environmental conditions. The system is currently in the final stages of development prior to delivery to the first customer,” Yair concludes.
