Unmanned Systems Unveils SUPERCAM S450 at MAKS

Series Production Scheduled for Late 2017

Russian manufacturer Unmanned Systems, based in Izhevsk, is using MAKS 2017 in Zhukovsky this week to unveil the SUPERCAM S450, an upgraded variant of its SUPERCAM S350 UAS.

With a 4kg payload (mounted underneath the central wing for unobstructed coverage) and endurance increased to 8h, SUPERCAM S450 has a maximum airspeed of 120km/h and a range of over 550 kilometres. Radio and video link ranges are 110 and 80km respectively, according to the company.

Payload options include remote-controlled HD video cameras with 720×576 resolution, thermal imagers, still image cameras and radiation sensors. The UAS is aimed primarily at the market for real-time day/night video surveillance, the company is also showcasing a modular target acquisition and tracking capability during the exhibition. The module can acquire and track user-defined targets andt supports digital image stabilization, keeping the platform in place based on the video input – especially useful when satellite-based navigation is unavailable. It also provides automatic target tracking and autonomous camera movement control based on the video picture. The module can also be installed on other fixed-wing UAS, such as the SUPERCAM S100, S250 and S350.

According to company sources, SUPERCAM S450 has successfully completed flight testing and is scheduled to enter series production late in 2017.
