Strengthens Leading Position in Laser Market

Lumibird confirmed on 26 July it has completed the acquisition of a 37% stake in French laser systems developer CILAS, obtaining the relevant shares from Areva and the required administrative authorisations.

The acquisition will significantly strengthen Lumibird’s kep position in the European defence and civil markets. The company has a half-century legacy of mastering solid state laser, laser diode and fibre laser technologies, employs some 800 staff and generated revenues in excess of €126 million in 2020.
