Austrian Company To Replace Three Systems, 100 Workstations
Frequentis has been awarded a contract by the Royal Netherlands Air Force to replace three voice communication systems (VCS) that have reached the end of their operational life.
No timescales for delivery or any indication of overall value for the contract have been released by the company. The three systems to be replaced support “up to 100 controller working positions,” according to a media release.
“The Frequentis voice communication system has a clear focus on cost efficiency over the lifespan of a system, providing customers with a very low total cost of ownership,” said Peter Skiczuk, VP Defence. “The proposed solution is based on the Frequentis secure VCS, specifically designed for military applications, and is the product supporting the highest diversity of radio manufacturers and radio models on the market. We are looking forward to working closely with RNLAF to deliver a system that fully supports their requirements.”
The company’s VCS has been in use with the German armed forces since 1997 and other users include the UK’s defence ministry, the US defence department, and the Slovak air force.
