SEA CEPTOR to Replace SEA WOLF
The Chilean Navy has selected Lockheed Martin Canada as prime contractor to upgrade its three Type 23 frigates. The upgrade work will include local shipyard ASMAR and total value is given at U$180 million.
The Lockheed Martin Canada CMS-330 combat management system will be integrated with the Airbus Defence & Space TRS 4D radar, in a similar installation to the US Navy’s Littoral Combat Ships. MBDA’s SEA CEPTOR missile system will replace the current SEA WOLF 2s, though they can be fired from the same launching system.
