SEK145 million Call-off Under Framework Agreement
Lithuania’s Defence Materiel Agency, a unit of the Ministry of National Defence, has ordered ammunition for the Carl-Gustaf 84mm recoilless rifle from Saab. Order value is stated to be SEK145 million (US$13.8 million) and delivery is scheduled for 2024, according to a company statement on 3 March.
The order has been placed under a framework agreement between Saab and the Swedish Defence Materiel Administration (FMV), which offers Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia the facility to place orders for Carl-Gustaf M4 weapons and ammunition over a ten-year period.
Proven to deliver results on the battlefield, the Carl-Gustaf provides the effectiveness soldiers need in modern, complex tactical scenarios. The wide range of ammunition types available make the weapon system a flexible solution, able to handle any battlefield situation – to destroy an armoured vehicle or structure, or to illuminate the scene during night-time operations.
