Deliveries to Begin This Year
LITEF is to provide its LCR-100 Attitude and Heading Reference System (AHRS) for the Subaru Bell 412EPX helicopter, the latest variant of the Bell 412, the company announced on 27 April.
The 412EPX has been selected for the Japan Ground Self-Defence Force (JGSDF) UH-2 utility helicopter programme to replace the existing UH-1J fleet. Japan’s MoD plans to procure around 150 aircraft over a 20-year programme period. In addition, the Japan National Police Agency (JNPA) placed the first order for a Subaru Bell 412EPX in 2019. Deliveries of the LITEF unit are scheduled to begin in mid-2021.
LITEF Managing Director, Lutz Kampmann, commented “We hope that our solution competence, our service portfolio as well as our product quality will meet Subaru’s expectations and we are looking forward to a long-term cooperation.”
The LCR-100 features light weight, low volume and low power loss, combined with extremely precise sensor data and superior reliability. High sensor precision facilitates autonomous heading alignment (gyro compassing), which completely eliminates the need to use malfunction-prone magnetic sensors for. The LCR-100 can be connected to an external GNSS receiver, thereby providing ’hybrid position solutions’ for navigation and flight control. The device is in global use today, in civil and military applications, in both new-build and upgrade/retrofit markets.
