The Self-Sufficient Energy Supply of the Future
The German energy solution producer AXSOL GmbH has presented its new energy container solution for the first time. The new solution enables a self-sufficient and reliable energy supply even in off-grid regions through intelligent energy systems.
AXSOL develops and produces autonomous power systems for mobile use. One of its products is the ARVEY A1, a mobile energy storage system that guarantees a self-sufficient energy supply, independent of time and place. With its new energy container solution, AXSOL has now succeeded in developing a self-sufficient, intelligent energy supply solution in containerized form.
The new energy system can be charged from regenerative energy sources (solar, wind, fuel cells), as well as external sources (mains power, diesel generators). A special advantage of the system is its intelligent control system, which regulates all sources according to demand, but relies primarily on renewable energies, and thus generates an optimal energy mix. This can reduce the use of diesel fuel by 30% and the maintenance effort for diesel/gas units by more than 50 percent. The intelligent control system enables a continuous power supply that is independent of time and place and 100% resilient – a completely self-sufficient ‘island’ system.
For the generation of solar energy, solar modules can be built into a photovoltaic (PV) system on the container roof. The tilt angle of the array is height-adjustable to achieve optimum solar radiation and maximum efficiency. This allows a highly flexible use in any terrain.
To store the generated energy, the containers are equipped with 19-inch battery racks of the latest generation of LiFePO4 batteries. The number and capacity of the batteries can be modularly extended and configured according to the requirements of the application.
One of the biggest advantages of the container solution is that each system is freely parameterizable and configurable in its entire size, performance and capacity. Depending on the available energy sources, the performance can be extended by more solar panels or more battery racks.
The energy container solution is particularly suitable for military applications due to its high level of security, excellent transportability and fast commissioning. All containers are delivered ready-to-use. For easy transport, all components can be stowed in a single container, which makes ‘all-in-one’ transport possible. Each container is also designed according to military requirements, but can be enhanced with ballistic protection such as hardened walls or Electromagnetic Pulse (EMP) and Nuclear Electromagnetic Pulse (NEMP) protection.
To upgrade its energy container solution, AXSOL also plans a foldable container solution with its cooperation partner Continest. This can make transport even easier, as up to eight folded containers can be transported on a single truck.
AXSOL’s energy container solution is suitable for any application. It can be used wherever mobile energy solutions are required, for example in the military sector, disaster control, mining, as well as sporting events, construction sites and many other areas.
