M346 light attack variant

Yesterday at IDEX 2017, Leonardo has announced the development of a M346 light attack variant equipped with radar and designated M-346 FA (Fighter Attack). This is an huge achievement for the Italian company as M-346 FA represents the third version of the aircraft after the in service standard advanced trainer and the light attack variant without radar designated M-346 FT (FighterTrainer). The M-346 FA will be fitted with a dedicated variant of the M-Scan Leonardo GRIFO radar named for the time being GRIFO 346. Leonardo currently has already carried out the installation studies and mechanical integration. The complete radar integration should be completed in one year to have M-346 FA ready for the market in 2018.
