$12. 2 Million for 60 HDTT
Leonardo DRS announced on 6 May that its Land Systems business unit is under contract with the US Army to build tactical transport trailers for armoured vehicles to improve combat logistics.
With an initial value of $12.2 million (€11.3 million), the contract calls for the company to build 60 Heavy Duty Tank Trailers (HDTT) to haul main battle tanks and other heavy vehicles. The HDTT is designed to carry payloads in excess of 70t across varied terrain, improving the ability of units to rapidly relocate their military capability. Manufacture will take place at the company’s facility in West Plains, MO.
“The Leonardo DRS Land Systems business possesses advanced manufacturing capabilities, and a long history of providing customers with successful, high-quality military and civilian systems including the Joint Assault Bridge, aircraft cargo loaders, advanced fluid/fuel distribution systems and heavy-duty trailers,” commented John Fitzpatrick, said Vice President of Business Development.
