Innovative Protection Measure Intercepts Virus and Allows for Data Recovery

At the PA Forum in Rome on 23 May – an event dedicated to innovation in the Italian public administration – Leonardo presented an innovative cyber intelligence solution aimed at protection against the genre of ‘ransomware’ cyber threats that hit the global business and government agency community earlier this month.

Aimed initially at governmental agencies in Italy under an existing framework agreement covering digital identity and application security, the solution on offer combines cyber intelligence and behavioural technologies to counter damage caused to companies, public institutions and individual citizens following a cyber attack. The solution incorporates Cyber Intuition’s RaPToR technology and stops the virus (such as the recent ‘WannaCry’ virus), intercepts execution attempts and prevents the encoding of user and system data. An additional feature allows for the restoration of data via a sophisticated recovery method should a new species of ransomware manage to circumvent recognition systems.
