Land Forces 2018: UK Pushes Innovation and Partnership

Australia a Key Strategic Partner for UK

Innovation and partnership are the main UK themes as UK companies exhibit a range of capabilities in the defence and security sectors during Land Forces 2018 in Adelaide next month. . This presence reflects the strong commitment that UK companies have to supporting the Australian armed forces’ modernisation programmes.

British companies are looking for enhanced opportunities via industrial partnerships and joint ventures. The UK is also looking to identify new areas in which it can work with the Australian armed forces and share experience in managing large defence programmes across the land sector.

“Australia is a key strategic partner and we are continuing to deepen and strengthen our defence and security relationship. We value this partnership highly and welcome every opportunity to discuss challenges and issues faced by both our armed forces. The world is ever-changing and the role of the armed forces (as above) in securing the safety of our citizens requires an ever-increasing breadth of tactics, doctrine and equipment, much of which we see here at Land Forces 2018. I would strongly encourage UK companies to look for partners in Australia so that we can continue to share knowledge, understanding and technology that can only strengthen our ties,” commented the Regional Director in the Department of International Trade’s Defence and Security Organisation, Alexis Hammer, who is leading the British presence at the exhibition.
