Smaller, Lighter With Improved Capability
Smartshooter will present its Smash 3000 fire control system for the first time in public at Land Forces 2022 in Brisbane next week.
A smaller, lighter version of the operationally-proven hand-held Smash system, the new version uses AI, computer vision and advanced algorithms to ensure each round finds its target, by day or night and maximizing force lethality, situational awareness and operational effectiveness. It also offers an effective hard-kill solution for the C-UAS mission.
Also on display will be Smash X4, incorporating a magnifying optical scope to provide extended detection, recognition, identification and lethality ranges. Incorporated an etched reticle and an optional laser rangefinder, Smash X4 enables range measurement both as a user-initiated capability as well as a system input for improved precision.
Smash fire control systems ensure that shot accuracy will not be affected by human error or target movement. In use worldwide, including in Israel and with US special forces, Smash enables the platoon to remain smart, precise and connected. The company believes it is ready to address the requirements of Australia’s Land 159 Tranche 2 Close Combat Family of Weapons (CCFoW) requirement.
“We have incorporated all operational and technical insights from previous versions into the system, making it even more effective while enabling significant weight and size reduction. Operational and combat-proven, […] Smash fire control systems allow infantry soldiers to swiftly and accurately neutralise their targets,” commented company CEO Michal Mor.
