LAAD 2019: Aeronautics Presents Wide Range of UAS

ORBITER 4 and PEGASUS 120 Among Newest Offerings

Aeronautics will display a wide range of unmanned aerial systems (UAS) at LAAD 2019, including its newest multi-mission ORBITER 4, the mini-UAS ORBITER 2 and the vertical take-off and landing (VTOL) PEGASUS 120.

We will display a range of comprehensive solutions for defence, HLS [homeland security] and civil applications. We are happy to present for the first time in Brazil. I believe that Aeronautics Group can provide innovative solutions for the region, comprised of UAVs, multi-rotors, aerostats, radars and many different sensors, all can be integrated together to one command and control centre,” commented the company’s Deputy CEO for Marketing and Sales, Dany Eshchar.

The group’s UAS are deployed in over 50 countries, providing high-end aerial solutions for defence, HLS and civilian missions. They are ideal for land, sea and air operations and have already accumulated hundreds of thousands of operational flight hours worldwide.
ORBITER 4 is an advanced multi-mission platform that offers high transportability, without the need for a take-off and landing strip. With an open architecture, it can carry and operate two different payloads simultaneously, including:

  • Maritime patrol radar (MPR);
  • Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR);
  • Cellular interception sensor – empowering intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR) and electronic intelligence (ELINT) missions that overcome ground intelligence collection constraints of inaccessible areas and line-of-sight limitations, while expanding coverage and ensuring covert operation;
  • Satellite communications;
  • Controp’s advanced XR electro-optic payload.

Based on the successful aerodynamic structure and properties of the ORBITER 3 small tactical UAS (STUAS), ORBITER 4 features maximum endurance of up to 24 hours, maximum takeoff weight of 50 kg and maximum flight altitude of 18,000 feet.

Aeronautics’ Cellular Intelligence System introduces a true multi-disciplinary airborne ISR system integrating high-end active cellular intelligence and visual intelligence (VISINT) capabilities based on the combat-proven Orbiter 3 STUAS. It enables rapid, continuous ISR missions exploiting various communication technologies in use by targetentities.

The ORBITER 2 mini-UAS is a compact, lightweight system, offering extended endurance and range while being operated by a crew of only two. It carries a multi-sensor camera with day-and-night channels and a laser pointer, gyro-stabilised with tri-sensor and zoom payload and can fly for 3 hours at a range of up to 80 km. Easy to operate and quickly assembled, ORBITER 2 is launched from a catapult and lands using a parachute and an airbag. Delivering advanced image processing, accurate navigation, and net landing capability for maritime operations, the UAS is deployable even in the harshest weather conditions: globally, 35 customers currently operate ORBITER 2.
The PEGASUS 120 is Aeronautics’ first multi-mission platform. With a maximum payload weight of up to 75 KG and an ability to carry communications intelligence (COMINT), VISINT and logistics payloads, it has been designed especially for defence and security missions.
