LAAD 2017: Agrale Unveils New Variants of MARRUA

Family Exhibits High Performance and Ruggedness

At LAAD 2017 in Rio de Janeiro this week, Agrale has revealed new versions of its MARRUA family of vehicles, consolidating its position as a strategic defence company.

Seen in public for the first time were new generations of the family of utility vehicles, including the MARRUA VTNE 0.5t, VTNE 3/4t and an ambulance variant with a 14m3 internal volume. Also on display were the AM21 variant of the GLO internal security vehicle, incorporating specific features for the peacekeeping and law enforcement roles, the MARRUA VTNE 2.5t, an AM41 and a VTL Rec RHD with thermal imagers from AEL Systems, as well as an armoured version of the MARRUA AM200 Double New Generation Cabin, an option for operations with police and security forces as well as civil use.

Agrale is an approved supplier to the Brazilian Army, with 20 of its vehicles in service with various military units and the peacekeeping missions in Haiti and Sudan. The MARRUA family is aimed at dual use for both military and civilian operators, with a range of vehicles with between ½-2½t capacities. “We continue to develop versions to meet the demands of the Brazilian and foreign defense forces and security, as well as the civilian use market,” Edson Ares Sixto Martins, Agrale’s Commercial Director, commented.

The MARRUA family has been extensively tested and approved by the most rigorous users, who demand robustness, performance and availability in any type of terrain. The common chassis allows for component rationalisation and reduction of lifecycle, logistics and maintenance costs. They have wide suspension, with angles of approach of up to 64° and departure of up to 52°, lateral inclination of 30% and maximum ramp of 60%, guaranteeing better performance in rough terrain. Manufactured according to the highest specifications, they stand out for their versatility, robustness and technical capabilities.
