10-Year Value up to $1.2 Billion
L3Harris Technologies has been awarded $117 million for option-year three of a US Space Force/US Space Command contract to continue maintaining and modernising infrastructure to track objects in space. The Maintenance Of Space Situational Awareness Integrated Capabilities (MOSSAIC) programme has an estimated contract value of $1.2 billion over 10 years.
L3Harris won the initial MOSSAIC contract in February 2020, to maintain and upgrade radar and optical sensors and C2 systems that provide timely, accurate space domain awareness data for military, civil and commercial users. “Better understanding the behavior of objects in space is critical to warfighting operations,” explained Ed Zoiss, President, L3Harris Space and Airborne Systems. “Our modernization initiatives enable the US Space Force to better understand threats to satellites.”
L3Harris space superiority capabilities and differentiated technology provide the foundation for space domain control, protecting assets and preserving strategic advantages. A trusted partner of the Space Force and other agencies, L3Harris has served the space superiority mission for over 30 years.
